GOODLIFE FITNESS MAKES A “BIG” DIFFERENCE
For 4 years now, the staff and members of GoodLife Fitness at the Downtown Chatham Centre have been fund-raising for their GoodLife Kids Foundation. Fitness Manager, Julie-Ann Daley, who drives their fund-raising initiatives, was especially pleased when this national Foundation decided to grant monies to the local Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. “We’vebeen very committed to children’s fitness and the fact that Chatham-Kent kids benefit from our hard work is rewarding and motivating.” Chatham GoodLife Fitness raised the most of any gym across Canada! Go Guys is a program to help boys 10-14 years develop an appreciation of the benefits of an active, healthy lifestyle. 2 boys recently went to the gym to thank Julie-Ann Daley and the other staff and members who raised the $17,500 which went to their program. Bobby and Kieran presented certificates to the key fund-raisers and got a tour from Club Manager, Andy Sullivan. “These guys are awesome” said Bobby (right). “It’s cool to think they raised all this money for kids like me”. Andy Sullivan, Club Manager, is a former Little Brother and a current Big Brother so he knows about the positive impact that their mentoring services can have. “The fact that this organization has added a program designed to address the physical activity, balanced eating and positive self-image needs of boys shows how innovative they are.”
